Does Reallo work if your pay is all over the place?
Yes. The weekly amount comes from your spending, not your payday, so casual, contract and irregular income all work the same way.
Short answer: yes. If you get paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly, in lumps, or some weeks not at all, Reallo works the same way. The reason is simple, and it surprises people.
The number does not come from your pay
The obvious way to build something like this is to start from your income. A slice of every payday, moved when it lands. The moment your pay goes lumpy, that whole idea wobbles.
Reallo starts somewhere else. It reads what you actually spend, works out what your everyday life costs in a normal week, and moves what is left over at the pace you set. Your payday is not in that calculation. Whether your money arrived on Tuesday, in three chunks, or a fortnight late, the question Reallo is asking is the same: what did this week cost you, and what can it spare?
The full mechanism is in How Reallo actually works. The short version is that the amount on that page comes from your spending history, not your income.
If Reallo cannot see your pay at all
Some people get paid into an account they never connect. Some run a business and the money lands in ways no app will ever tidy up. That is fine. Reallo treats income it cannot see as a normal state of affairs, not a problem to fix, and it does not need to find your pay to work out what your spending can spare.
The one time your income does matter
There is exactly one situation where Reallo looks at your income before it will set anything up. If it can clearly see money coming in, and it can also see that your fixed costs are eating all of it, it will not schedule a weekly move. It tells you so, keeps your plan saved, and waits.
That check only fires on positive evidence. Reallo will not refuse you because it could not find your pay. It refuses only when it can see your income and see it being swallowed, which is the one time moving money would be the wrong thing to do.
Lumpy spending, not just lumpy pay
Irregular income usually comes with irregular spending: a quiet fortnight, then a big one. Reallo's read of your normal week is built to cope with that. A pattern of lumpy but recurring spending is treated as your normal, not as noise. A single one-off spike is damped rather than trusted. And while it is still getting to know you, it commits less rather than more.
A lean week between pays
If a week is tight, Reallo holds off rather than take you under your buffer. It checks your live balance before the move goes, and if the move would leave you short, nothing moves that week. Not a smaller amount. Nothing. The worked example is at the end of How Reallo actually works.
So if your income is all over the place, that is not a reason to wait. It is closer to the case Reallo was built for.
