How Reallo actually works.
Reallo is a New Zealand automatic-savings app. No budgets, no transfers, no willpower. Here's the whole idea, and honest answers to the questions everyone asks.
The whole idea
Watch
Reallo connects to your bank through Akahu and watches each spending category against its usual level.
Catch
When a category naturally eases off, a quieter week, a takeaway you skipped, a sub you forgot, Reallo catches the difference.
Move
Every dollar Reallo catches goes to the destination you chose: cash, KiwiSaver, or investing. You do nothing.
Honest answers
Yes. You connect through Akahu, New Zealand's regulated open banking platform, and the access is read-only. Reallo can see your transactions but never sees your login, never holds your money, and you can disconnect any time.
It won't. Reallo learns what your everyday spending needs and never moves money below that line. It only ever moves the slack sitting on top, so you're never left short.
No, that's the whole point. You spend normally. Reallo watches for the money that naturally eases off and moves that. No budgets, no cutting back, no willpower.
Wherever you choose: cash, KiwiSaver, investing, or a split. You pick the destination once, and every dollar Reallo catches lands there.
Only what your spending leaves behind, scaled by a keenness dial you control. Some months that's a lot, some months barely anything. It's discovered from your spending, never a number you have to commit to.
